Provides ABA Therapy to individuals up to the age of 21, between the hours of 2pm-9 pm in their home and community. Available to work up to two Saturday’s per month.
The primary responsibility of the Life Prep Therapist is as follows:
Manages a caseload of client families, providing services on an intensive basis
Responsible for family training that integrates behavioral modification strategies to be implemented in the home and or natural environment
Prepares written service plan, incorporating input from clients, involved service providers, and wraparound team members, and clearly identifying problem areas and needs, strategies, and service objectives
Provide reliable transportation in your own vehicle and provide therapy to the client in the various community locations to teach life/functional skills. (Must provide proof of insurance and driving record to be eligible for hire).
Teach hygiene, self-care and advocacy skills to adolescents and young adults, including independence in the bathroom, sexual health skills, etc.
Documents case activities for both clinical and billing purposes
Collaborates and coordinates with other case involved service providers and professionals, such as Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Physical Therapists
Works with Behavior Analyst to increase effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, or related field; with one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of developmental disabilities including autism; ABA Therapy; youth and family counseling; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; clear driving record
